Detail	The selection of the conference topic was absolutely logical. As it was reckoned years ago, the movement of the Goths and other Germanic tribes from Scandinavia to the Black Sea opened the way for contacts between two opposite parts of Europe. These contacts reflected in various categories of artefacts common to Northern Europe and the Black Sea area. Distribution maps of several types of artefacts have been compiled to indicate a definite diagonal line with one end in Scandinavia and another end in the Crimea. Concrete routes of the Germanics from Scandinavia to the Black Sea have also been reconstructed. Despite of successes achieved, many problems related to contacts between Northern Europe and the north Black Sea area still remain unstudied or investigated insufficiently.
