Detail The publication sheds light on the contribution, role and impact of the “Prosvita” public association with regard to development and implementation of Ukraine’s government capacities in the 2nd half of XIX – the 1st half of XX centuries. It traces the “Prosvita” participation in revival of Ukrainian national identity, upholding citizens’ cultural, educational, economic and political rights. Special emphasis is made on government HR development, bureaucracy’s views on Ukraine’s nationhood, participation in state and political processes in Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires (the 2nd half of XIX – early XX centuries), Poland and Czechoslovakia (the 1920s – 1930s); nationhood building activities of the “Prosvita” members (in 1917 – 1920, 1939, 1941); their work in the authorities in exile (1920 – 1940). It also provides biobibliographical data on 336 “Prosvita” members.
